NextPart LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the NextPart mobile application and nextpart.app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our Service.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account information. If you sign in with Apple, we receive information Apple provides, such as a user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. You may also use the app as a guest. Guest mode does not create a cloud account; limited data stays on your device.
  • Usage and watch data. We store viewing activity such as episodes watched, playback progress, and items saved to My List so we can provide Continue Watching and related features. For signed-in users, this data may sync to our servers. For guests, it is stored locally on your device.
  • Subscription information. If you purchase NextPart Pro, payment is processed by Apple. We and our subscription partner (RevenueCat) receive subscription status needed to unlock premium content. We do not receive your full payment card details.
  • Push notification data. If you enable notifications, we may collect a device push token (via Apple and Firebase Cloud Messaging) to send optional alerts. You can turn notifications off in the app or system settings.
  • Analytics and device data. We may collect app events (for example, episode started or completed), device type, operating system version, and app version to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and personalize the Service
  • Maintain watch progress, My List, and account preferences
  • Process and manage subscriptions and restore purchases
  • Send optional push notifications you opt into
  • Analyze usage to improve performance and content
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you
  • Comply with legal obligations

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. With vendors who help us operate the Service, including:
    • Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store billing)
    • Google Firebase (authentication, database, analytics, push messaging)
    • RevenueCat (subscription status and entitlement management)
    • Cloudflare (website and content delivery)
These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
  • Legal requirements. When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law.

Guest Mode vs Signed-In Accounts

In guest mode, watch progress and similar preferences are stored on your device and are not synced to a cloud account. If you sign in with Apple, account data, progress, and library items may be stored in Firebase so they can sync across devices. Deleting the app may erase guest data on that device.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and longer when required for legal, security, or accounting reasons. Subscription records may be retained as needed to manage entitlements and comply with Apple and tax requirements.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account from within the NextPart app (Profile). Deleting your account removes or de-identifies associated account data we control, subject to limited retention required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or completed transactions). You may also request deletion by emailing team@nextpart.app.

Canceling a subscription is separate from deleting an account. Manage or cancel NextPart Pro in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at team@nextpart.app or use in-app account deletion where available.

If you signed in with Apple, you can also manage the data Apple shares with apps through your Apple ID settings.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at team@nextpart.app and we will take steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Users

NextPart LLC is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers (including Firebase and Cloudflare) operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
